For maverick detective Frank McKenzie, murder is as frequent and normal as sleeping at the end of a hard day’s work. The only difference between sleeping and murder is that death is a permanent sleep - a sleep that holds secrets and buries lies.
In his profession, a hard heart and steady nerve get him through his cases, but sometimes it takes a whole lot more than nerves of steel to deal with the things he sees. Sometimes he needs to separate humanity from the equation. A lot of people call Frank McKenzie a lot of things.
A good detective – a maverick cop – a nervous wreck.
But the one thing they never call him is a failure. Come hell or high water, Frank McKenzie will catch the killer, dead or alive – taking no prisoners.
Join Frank in his first three outings. The unstable drug dependent detective takes on higher odds at every turn. Does he manage to crack the whip on justice and bring the scum to their knees or does that bit of humanity he loses on a daily basis turn him into the monster that lurks in the dark corners of his mind?
This thumping thrill-ride contains three of Frank’s novels that captivate on every page. Join him in the Casual Killer, Plenty Of Pain and 25th Of Dismember.
The Casual Killer
When the city of Boston is terrorized by a mass murdering psychopath who is leading a militia of men into a war on citizens’ rights to privacy, it’s up to the fabled, yet broken Detective, Frank McKenzie to bring them to justice.
Plenty Of Pain
Frank McKenzie knows pain. He excels in delivering it. He understands its formation, its formula. He recognizes its taste. He can see it coming from a mile away. But he never saw this coming. He never saw the storm ahead.
An Assassin is running rampant in Boston. He calls himself The Mexican. Important people go missing. Business men are found dead. Mutilated bodies are uncovered. All clues lead to one mysterious man. A faceless man. A man that conceals his identity in the shadows.
He leaves a calling card at his crime scenes.
A call to death.
A call to arms.
Can Frank McKenzie be the good cop he wants to be, or will pain overcome his soul and turn him into the cop he knows he is?
25th Of Dismember
A machete wielding killer on the loose
With the city of Boston gripped by a Christmas Phantom, it’s the jobs of the Boston PD and its front line Detectives to bring the Machete Man to justice.
A sick gift for the people of the city
He leaves his victims in a state of separation…literally. A mass of Christmas gifts are being left in public places. Boxes filled with severed limbs appear as frequently as snow in December, leaving a sour taste in the mouths of the police that not even milk and cookies can get rid of.
A Detective on his last marble
Frank McKenzie isn't known for holiday cheer or good tidings. It’s up to him to rid the city of its new found nemesis and return the streets to the norm, if only he was normal himself….

Triple Murder Boxset Three Thrilling Reads! edition by Luis Samways Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks
This hardboiled detective genre is not my kind of story. That being said I read all three and I found that they were not written well. The stories seem to lack realism in terms of the police procedures and policies. Similar to this, various characters (police included) spend an inordinate amount of time discussing names assigned to killers. Not only this, but the stories take place in Boston and the characters are supposed to be just that, Bostonians, unless otherwise specified, yet throughout the works both the narration and dialogue are peppered with foreign expressions. An example of this is officers referring to flashlights as “torches.” There are other little things that take from the story.Book One The Casual Killer
Frank is a borderline schizophrenia, ex military, and a detective who always gets his man. He breaks all the rules so he keeps getting in trouble, but they keep him on the job to clear cases. A psycho teams up with a government man for what reason no one knows. It is up to Frank and his fellow officers to work the case.
Book Two Plenty Of Pain
Boston has a madman killing people associated with a company. The killer shoots Frank in the leg while he was at a crime scene and traps him in a tent. The Mexican, as the killer calls himself, is perched above Frank yet none of the police see the gun or even a flash. Frank figures out clues even though the voices in his head keep yelling at him. The police work to try to beat the clock and save the killer’s abductee.
Short Novella Three Twenty-fifth Of Dismember
Frank is released from a hospital when someone throws out a box of body parts at his feet. Body parts also keep getting found in gift wrapped boxes all over the city. One victim of this dismemberer, Roxanne, has survived over 4 years as lots of victims have come and go in her underground prison. One day the mayor’s daughter is brought in and put in the cell with her. The mob has its hands in many businesses, including human trafficking. The killer, however, has found a new use for these trafficked victims. Frank is thrust into the investigation and won’t stop until he gets to the truth.

Triple Murder Boxset Three Thrilling Reads! edition by Luis Samways Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
same characters and almost same stories.. Main character gets very boring
A gook book!
Love these boxed sets - great chance to try new authors at a cheap price.
This set consists of two novels and a novella (or short story). The set features Detective Frank McKenzie. He is a different kind of protagonist a drug addict and a fanatic for justice. A strong point in these stories is the author's character development of the main players. There are faults, which are described in my individual reviews. I rated one novel 4 stars and two 3 stars, really discounting the technical faults. See my individual reviews. Reveiwed by the author of The Children's Story, About Good and Evil.
Keep on plugging away Luis, I will certainly recommend you books to family and friends. Thank You for the entertainment!
The most positive item about Box Sets or bundles is the ability to be exposed to new Authors and their stories. This provides the opportunity to expand ones reading list for what we enjoy or on the other hand avoid certain authors that don't hold our interest or we find their stories offensive.
The Triple Murder box set in my case falls into the later category. The first book is the Casual Killer and I plodded grudgingly through it, based on my sensitivities, just to see how much worse it could get and how it would end.
This is a Sick Sick Sick story full of senseless killing, single and multiple with much gore, a lot of brain spatter. If that isn't enough the author throws in chapters of PORN. The legal authorities are corrupt drunken idiots with the a final beautiful moment when a father blows his daughters head apart for no real good reason. One of the best parts of the writing is it's disjointed.
I don't really understand why would convert this sick trash to a e book!!!!
ActuallyI did not finish any of the three novels in the collection. Each was, to me unnecessarily violent and I found the characters not very sympathetic. The writing was OK. I just did not care for the characters or the action.
